Filberg Lodge is a 1930’s arts and crafts style home built on 9 acres of beautiful waterfront estate which overlooks Comox Harbour. Once the home of logging magnate and philanthropist Robert (RJ) Filberg and his family, it is now a municipal Park right in the heart of beautiful downtown Comox, British Columbia.

The property and buildings were left to the Vancouver Foundation when Mr. Filberg died in 1977. Thanks to a forward thinking Comox Council, the Town of Comox was able to purchase the property in 1978. In 1979 the non-profit Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park Association (FHLPA) was created to manage and preserve the estate. The property was officially designated a municipal heritage site on April 18th 1979.

With the help of the Comox Parks Department, the FHLPA has managed, maintained and preserved the Park for the community for over 40 years. It is a popular venue for weddings and celebrations, festivals such as the Filberg Festival held on BC day weekend and the BC Seafood Festival held in June. The Lodge is open for tours and contains a lovely, eclectic Gift Shop filled with wonderful antiques and collectables donated by the people of the Comox Valley. On the grounds there is also a quaint little restaurant, the “Filberg Summer Kitchen”, which is open for lunch and snacks during the summer months, and features live Music on Friday evenings.

The Association has many volunteers who keep things humming along. Upward of 300 volunteers put in roughly 10, 000 hours per year doing everything from tending the cutting garden, giving tour and gift shop sales to sitting on the Board of Directors. They are the backbone of the organization and very little would be possible without their passion and comittment.

The Park is a popular venue for special events and festivals such as the Filberg Festival on BC Day weekend and the BC Seafood Festival held in June. The Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park is truly the jewel in the crown of the Comox Valley, please stop by for a visit. The Park is open from Dawn until Dusk all year round.

Mission: “The Filberg Heritage Lodge & Park Association is dedicated to the preservation and stewardship of the Filberg Lodge and Park”
